Hi, I’m Shelley! Yes, this is Ashtanga Spokane. If you’ve come to this site hoping to find Ashtanga Yoga School Spokane you’ve come to the right place. I was the owner and director of AYSS and unfortunately had to close the school due to the untoward effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.  That said, I’m still teaching Ashtanga yoga and sharing the practice with anyone who is interested in learning. I’ve been teaching yoga for almost 30 years. I am fortunate to have been introduced to the Ashtanga method by my teacher, David Garrigues, and have maintained a committed Ashtanga yoga practice for over 20 years. Along the way I’ve learned that everyone is unique, steps on to the mat for different reasons, and that each person requires a little something different. So, whether you are new to yoga or have previous experience I invite you to come and take practice with me. My goal is to inspire and assist you in building the skills to develop a strong and meaningful personal yoga practice.

How to practice with me

On a weekly basis I teach Mysore style Ashtanga yoga and guided pranayama group classes on Friday mornings. I also teach private sessions which is perfect if you are interested in a home practice or if you attend other yoga studios yet want individual support with your practice. I also teach special events like “pop-up” Primary Series classes, workshops, and Yoga Sūtra chanting. Check out what’s happening…
