David is the director of the Ashtanga Yoga School of Philadelphia. He is one of a few teachers in the US certified to teach Ashtanga yoga by the late world renowned yoga master Sri K Pattabhi Jois. As an Ashtanga ambassador he bases his teachings on the idea that ‘Anyone can take practice.’ a core idea in the teachings of Sri K Pattabhi Jois. David’s mission is to help others flourish within the living, contemporary lineage of Ashtanga yoga. He aims to be part of an ever wider circle of people who are committed to applying the teachings of Ashtanga yoga in ways that promote physical, psychological, and spiritual growth in themselves and others. He teaches workshops around the world featuring Mysore intensives and In-depth Studies. David is also the author of the several instructional DVDs, books, and CDs related to the practice Ashtanga yoga.
Tim is the director of the Ashtanga Yoga Center in Encinitas, CA. He has been studying and teaching Ashtanga yoga for over thirty years and was the first American certified to teach by Pattabhi Jois. Tim has a thorough knowledge of this ancient system, which he imparts in a dynamic, yet compassionate and playful manner. “My goal as a teacher is to inspire a passion for practice. The practice itself, done consistently and accurately, is the real teacher.”
