getting started is easy

Because everyone learns differently, we have three different ways to learn Ashtanga Yoga at our school. Choose the class option that works best for you … it’s that simple.

1) mysore classes

This video was created from a Mysore class with certified Ashtanga teacher, David Garrigues assisted by our director, Shelley Enlow.

The teaching method used in a Mysore class is the traditional way of learning and practicing Ashtanga yoga. Mysore is a self-led practice where you move through the Ashtanga series of poses under the guidance of a dedicated teacher. The students are taught individually through verbal cues, demonstration, and touch based assistance. The postures are introduced, one at a time, so the student can easily memorize the sequence with confidence and comfort. Because Mysore is personalized, it is suitable for all levels and all abilities. When learning this format, we ask new students enroll in our Introduction to Mysore course.

Introduction to Mysore Course

This 4-week course will prepare you to participate in our ongoing Mysore classes. It is tailored to fit those who are new to yoga or new to the Ashtanga system.

Choose from two course time options

  • Course A:  6:00am - 7:00am Monday - Thursday

  • Course B:  8:00am - 9:00am Monday - Thursday

Although this course is offered 4x/week, we recognize this might not always work for your schedule and recommend you try to attend 3x/week at a minimum. Therefore, if you need to miss a class, no worries, we will work with you the next time you come and instruct you on where your practice left off. This course includes Sunday Mysore class at 8:00am as an extra practice day or a make-up day for the course duration.

2) guided classes

Guided classes are what most people are familiar with when they think about taking a yoga class. During a guided class, instruction is verbal and participants follow along together accordingly. All of our classes other than Mysore are considered “guided”. Each guided class progresses in level based on the skill level needed to participate safely. 3) private instruction

You can begin comfortably at our studio with private one-on-one instruction.  Private lessons are scheduled daytime hours by appointment.
