Our school is unique because it is the only yoga studio in Spokane offering three different teaching styles; mysore class instruction, guided class instruction, and private one-on-one instruction. All of our teaching styles focus on Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. We recommend trying all of our classes as they each support the practice in a different way.
The teaching method used in a Mysore class is the traditional way of learning and practicing Ashtanga yoga. The teacher instructs each student individually through verbal cues and hands on adjustments. The postures are introduced and taught, one at a time, so the student can easily memorize the sequence with both confidence and comfort. The student will progress at their own rate and will advance when they become proficient in executing the various asanas and their transitions. When beginning to learn this method we recommend students commit to practicing three times a week for a minimum of one month. Introduction courses following this format are offered monthly.
Guided classes are what most people are familiar with when they think about taking a yoga class. During a guided class, instruction is verbal and participants follow along together accordingly. All of our classes other than Mysore are considered “guided”. Each guided class progresses in level based on the skill level needed to participate safely. We accept drop-in students to our guided classes.
You can begin comfortably at our studio with one-on-one instruction. Private lessons are scheduled daytime hours by appointment.
